The Kaiterra Square is a recessed commercial indoor air quality monitor.

Configuration

To access the configuration page of the monitor, follow the steps below:

  1. Power up the monitor

  2. Remove the front panel

  3. Use a sharp pin to press and hold the button inside the “ON/OFF” pinhole for 10 seconds, until the red indicator light flashes on

  4. Open the “Kaiterra Configuration Tool” (download here) on a Windows / Mac OS / Linux computer

  5. Connect your computer to the wireless hotspot created by Kaiterra Square; its SSID (network name) should start with “Kaiterra-SQ-100”

  6. The “Kaiterra Configuration Tool” will detect the monitor and automatically enter its configuration page

You may now set up the monitor on the configuration page according to the following instructions:

  • To gather the information required for adding the monitor to the gams platform, see Monitor Information

  • To connect the monitor to a WiFi network, see WiFi Setup

  • To configure the monitor to send data directly to the gams platform, see MQTT Setup

When you finish configuring the monitor, make sure that Sleep mode is OFF or unchecked and click on Configure Device at the bottom of the window.

Monitor Information

  1. On the “Kaiterra Configuration Tool”, click the Device tab at the top left

  2. At the top of the page, under the Device details section:

  • Its UUID is on the UDID line

  • Its model is on the Model line, e.g. SQ-100

WiFi Setup

  1. On the “Kaiterra Configuration Tool”, click the Device tab at the top left

  2. Scroll down the page to find the Wifi section

  3. Under the Wifi section, enter the SSID of the wireless network you wish to connect the monitor to

  4. For the Security option:

    • If the WiFi network does not require a password, select None

    • If the WiFi network requires a password, select the corresponding security protocol (the most common one is WPA/WPA2-PSK), and enter the Password

MQTT Setup

  1. On the “Kaiterra Configuration Tool”, click the Device tab at the top left

  2. Scroll down the page to find the MQTT section

  3. Enter the Broker URI: bridge.measureofquality.com

  4. Enter the Broker port: 1883
