Users¶
Users of gams are grouped into 4 roles: Reader, Maintainer, Operator and Admin, and each has different permissions and tools.
Reader: can access data from nodes, tags, locations, views, reports and alerts.
Maintainer: can update node name and location, can also manage tags, locations, views, reports and alerts. Can reset password for users.
Operator: can manage nodes (rename, location, MAC address, status), can also manage tags, locations, views, reports and alerts. Can manage users and assign roles (Operator, Maintainer, Read). Can manage operation tools. If the user belongs to a partner organization, can manage organizations and create or delete a node.
Admin: has all the permissions. Can also assign Admin role to users.
User Overview¶
To access User Overview, click on Users
on the left navigation menu of CC:
The User Overview page is where you can see and manage all the Users under your Organization.
You can filter Users by Organization at the top of the page.
User Management¶
Note
These features require Maintainer role or above.
User Password Reset¶
To send a password reset email to a User, click on the blue Reset password
button () of the User on the User Overview
page. They will receive an auto-generated email with a password reset link to their gams User account.
User Creation¶
Note
This feature requires Operator role or above.
To invite a new User to an Organization, click on the the Add new User
button at the top-right of the the User
Overview page. You need to fill in the Email address, Full name, User language, and Role of the User. When you are
done, click on Create
to invite a new User. They will receive an auto-generated email with an invitation link to
their gams User account.
User Edition¶
Note
This feature requires Operator role or above.
To edit a User’s Profile, click on the green Edit
button () of the User on the User Overview page.
User Information¶
You can change the User’s full name, email address, and role here. When you are done, click on Save
of the
section to save your changes.
Platform Setting¶
You can change the User’s user language, timezone, display timezone, and display density here.
User language decides the display language of CC and the language of notification emails for the User.
Setting display timezone as Location
will make CC show Node data in the timezone of the monitor’s physical
location, and setting it as User
will make CC show data in the timezone of the User’s Profile.
Display density decides the default display style of the User’s Node Overview.
When you are done, click on Save
of the section to save your changes.
Notification Preference¶
You can check to enable and uncheck to disable specific notifications for the User here. When you are done,
click on Save
of the section to save your changes.
User Deletion¶
Note
This feature requires Operator role or above.
Warning
Use this feature with great caution.
To delete a User, click on the red Delete
button () of the User on the User Overview page.
