gams Enhanced Monitor (MSD-1608D/MSD-1808D) is a multi-sensor cloud-ready monitor with the gams proprietary
communication board.

Configuration
=============

To access the configuration page of the monitor, follow the steps below:

#. Connect a computer or a smart phone to the wireless hotspot created by the monitor; its SSID (network name) starts
   with *gams_XXX* in which "XXX" is the board number of the machine, and its password is *reduxap25*
#. With a web browser on the device that you are using, type *192.168.8.1* in the address bar and enter

You may now set up the monitor on the configuration page according to the following instructions.

WiFi Setup
----------

To connect the monitor to a WiFi network, follow the steps below:

* If the wireless network you wish to connect the monitor to has a password:
   #. Click on ``Automatically set WiFi client`` on the left sidebar menu
   #. Select the network to connection under the ``Network name`` drop-down menu
   #. Enter the ``Password``
   #. Click on ``Save``

* If the wireless network you wish to connect the monitor does not have a password:
   #. Click on ``Manually set WiFi client`` on the left sidebar menu
   #. Manually enter the ``Network name``
   #. Select ``No Encryption`` under the ``Encryption`` drop-down menu
   #. Click on ``Save``

Test Connection
---------------

To test the network connection of the monitor, follow the steps below:

#. Click on ``Test connection`` on the left sidebar menu
#. Click on ``Start test`` on the page

If the connection was successful, all test items should return green success messages.

If the test returns any red error message:

* Try unplugging the Ethernet cable and plugging it back in if the monitor is using a wired connection
* Try disconnecting the monitor from its power source and then turning it back on again

If the problem persists, take a screenshot or a text copy of the page and send it to your support contact, and they will
assist you in the troubleshooting process.

Monitor Information
-------------------

The monitor's UUID and MAC address are shown in the top-left corner of the page.

Advanced Networking
-------------------

To change advanced network settings of the monitor, follow the steps below:

* Click on ``Advanced networking`` on the left sidebar menu

  * To change the the password of the monitor's wireless hotspot (AP):

    #. Under ``Node network access point password``, enter the new password in ``Wi-Fi AP password``
    #. Click on ``Save & Apply WiFi password``

  * To hide or stop broadcasting the monitor's wireless hotspot (AP):

    #. Take note of the ``Local SSID`` under ``Node network access point password`` and the password,
       so that you can still connect to its AP later by manually entering the SSID and password,
       in case you need to configure the monitor again after the AP has been hidden
    #. Under ``Hide node access point network``, check ``Hidden``
    #. Wait for a few seconds for the change to take effect
